Founded in 2020 in Mekelle, Ethiopia, Green Star FC gives young footballers a place to develop their talent, confidence and character. The club was founded by president Samson Nasro Sigo and current head coach Muhammed Hayatu Sualih Muhammed. Samson brings his experience as an international football scout and agent, while Hayatu leads the team on the pitch. Together, they connect the club’s local roots with a wider African football network. Our team competes in the Tigray league, where players grow through training, teamwork and competition. Green Star FC is proud to represent Mekelle and to help its young players build a strong foundation for their future.

Meet the people representing Green Star FC.

Club President & Co-Founder

Samson Nasro Sigo

Samson co-founded Green Star FC in 2020 with its current head coach, Muhammed Hayatu Sualih Muhammed. Through SirNes Soccer Agency, he has worked in football scouting and player representation since 2018, with experience across Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin and other parts of West Africa, as well as East and Southern Africa. His international experience also spans Belarus, Poland, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Qatar, India, Pakistan, China and South Korea. Nicknamed the “African Mino Raiola” in a 2023 Kawowo Sports interview, he brings that international perspective to the club’s work with young players.
